Waxing & Threading

To better assist you with your questions, please choose a category below:

What is threading?

A threading expert twists a cotton thread into a loop and rolls it over areas of unwanted hair. The loop acts like a tiny lasso, pulling out hair by the roots. Threading removes short lines of hair, instead of pulling single hairs out one at a time. Perfect for people who have sensitive skin or breakout from waxing or if you need to get rid of peach fuzz.

What are the benefits of waxing?

Waxing reduces hair growth when performed at every four weeks. While shaving crops the hair at the skin's surface, waxing pulls it out by the root, so it grows back softer, finer, and thinner. Waxing is great for those who are tired of the hassle of shaving several times per week. The more you wax, the less hair grows back.

Will my hair grow back darker?

Absolutely not! Waxing does not cause you to grow more hair follicles. In fact, if you become a regular waxer, you will notice that your hair will become quite sparse and not as coarse.

How often should I get waxed?

Every four weeks. Regular waxing is essential. The skin will be less sensitive if waxing is done every four weeks. Over time, with regular waxing, the hair follicle will have less and less of a grip on the hair to be pulled and the hairs will come out more easily. Another reason to wax often is that you may even experience less hair growth over time. It may take up to three waxing treatments to achieve smooth skin due to the fact that hair grows in stages and all of your hair is never at the same stage. It is very important to avoid shaving between waxing appointments, as this will interrupt the process and stimulate the hair growth again.

How can I prevent ingrown hairs?

For the next 24-48 hours, avoid on the waxed areas: Use of exfoliation or ingrown hair products eg. Whish Flawless or Scrubs Avoid being in direct sun exposure and tanning beds Deodorant: it results in irritation and clogging of open follicles Wearing tight clothing: results in irritation and inflammation Exercise, if it may cause chaffing or sweating.

What is a bikini wax?

A regular bikini wax service is the removal of the hair on the area that would normally be outside of your bikini line.

What is a partial brazilian wax?

A partial brazilian is anything outside of a thong line. Within this definition, we also have clients who request the popular ‘landing strip’.

What is a brazilian wax?

A brazilian wax is the removal of all the pubic hair, front and back, using wax. Basically, everything is waxed away!

How should I prepare for a brazilian wax?

Make sure that you've trimmed your hair to at least 1/2 to 1/4 inches. The longer the hair, the more uncomfortable you'll be. There is a fee for trimming for those who don't trim at home.

It's my first time getting a brazilian wax. What can I expect?

The first time is the most uncomfortable, your hair is generally at its thickest and this is what causes discomfort. Also, everyone's skin reacts differently to waxing treatments, but you can expect to have temporary redness and minor irritation for a day or two. You may experienced slight itchiness as the hair grows out. Proper post-wax care will reduce these symptoms quickly. Don't worry and relax, our estheticians are all professionally trained and will answer any other questions you may have. If you’re a bride or attending a special occasion, I recommend receiving waxing services a month before your special day to see how your skin reacts. If everything is fine, reschedule another wax a few days before.

Is it customary to add gratuity to my services?

The industry standard for gratuity is 15%-20% but the amount you choose to leave is completely at your discretion.

Will I breakout from eyebrow or lip waxing?

It's normal for first time waxers to experience breaking out on the upper lip or eyebrows. Once the unwanted hairs are removed; your pores are now exposed to bacteria and oil, this can cause breakouts. We recommend exfoliating your skin with an exfoliating scrub before you have the waxing done and don't touch the waxed areas!
